Producer Miguel Ángel Fox and host Adrián Uribe, of TelevisaUnivision’s De Noche Pero Sin Sueño: It is a classic television format

TelevisaUnivision presented the fourth season of the late-night De Noche Pero Sin Sueño, directed by Adrián Uribe and produced by Miguel Ángel Fox, who highlighted that the new installment comes with a higher dose of comedy and visual production, distinguishing it from other similar formats internationally. It will be released on Las Estrellas on Friday, April 5, after El Noti, and on TelevisaUnivision on Sunday, April 7.

“It is a classic television format. We are not inventing anything,  just adapting it to Mexican and Hispanic audiences. We are trying the format to last a long time because it is gradually finding its space. Unlike other channels, the space comes with more comedy because what people are looking for is to laugh,” Fox noted.

Uribe, with 25 years of experience in comedy, said that this was why they decided to give this season a higher dose of comedy. “We managed to include up to two sketches per program, without leaving aside the musicals, interviews, and dynamics, but making people laugh is the main objective.”

JIMMY FALLON, ADMIRER OF THE MEXICAN FORMAT
Regarding the challenges of recording part in the US and part in Mexico, the producer mentioned the complexities of getting used to a new crew and different ways of production. “In the US, they think that Latin programs should be like a fair of colors, but I like the base of the sets in black, so coming across productions of other television stations and imprinting my style there was the real challenge.”

As an anecdote, he added that the American presenter Jimmy Fallon commented that the scenography of his show has nothing to do with De Noche Pero Sin Sueño. “Beyond the fact that it is an infrastructure that gives touches of comedy, it feels very technological, and that is what I like to imprint in my projects, that you see an attractive and different product.”

Regarding the rating, Fox explained that the production has a triple rating: “one in the US, another in the different regions of the country and the third in Mexico, and it depends a lot on the guest artist in each territory. Powerful artists give you high marks.”

Uribe added that the objective is for the program itself to generate the rating, regardless of the artist who is a guest.

A LATE NIGHT THAT SEEKS TO EVOLVE
The producer of ¿Quién es la máscara? said that De Noche Pero Sin Sueño has been considered a fictional unitary. “But what we are looking for is to have the feeling of seeing it as a live late night, where things can happen, improvisation is allowed, and that being live always has a special magic. That is what evolution means so that the program has a rhythm that connects with the audiences of the channels where it is displayed. These formats are already perfectly structured, but what makes it unique is the host style.”

Among the guest artists of the fourth season are Emilio Estefan, Olga Tañón, María José, Karol Sevilla and Mario Bautista.
