Brands throw virtual confetti for the US Women´s Soccer Team

For the first time in history, there was a ticker-tape parade in New York to honor a women´s sport team. The US celebrated their country´s triumph as champions of the 2015 Women´s World Cup and covered the streets of Manhattan with confetti. While the nation celebrated, sponsors and brands also joined the party. Coca-Cola, Lyft and Scholastic gave their support to the national women´s soccer team on Friday morning. Coca-Cola, the New York Red Bulls, Nike, Powerade, Ritz Crackers, and Trident Gum are among the sponsors of the team and they all threw their dose of virtual confetti on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the girls on the team. Another significant group of brands and marketers applauded the soccer team with tweets in real time, during the parade. The hashtag #USWNTParade was the most popular on Twitter throughout Friday morning.
