Conill CCO Diego Yurkievich has directed the agency’s creative department for the last two and half years. He said they have been years of tremendous growth, as in the case of Lowe’s: “We are one of the three agencies that handle the Lowe’s account for the general market. We are not their multicultural agency, and this opens doors that are transforming the agency.” He noted that today the agency is much more focused on new business. “We restructured the way we attack pitches and strategies. We are pleased to have put together a super solid team that is reflected in its results. We have won accounts, which leads to growth, which in turn leads to expanding the creative team and the agency in general.” Yurkievich said the agency’s relations with long-time clients have evolved in a very natural way. He gave the example of Toyota, which despite being an “old” client for the agency, when it moved from L.A. to Dallas a year ago, the carmaker made many staff changes, so “for us it is an old client, but a new relationship. You always have to recreate the relationship.” Thanks to the growth it has had, Conill continues to expand, strengthen its team and move beyond any deficiencies with each new account. “We always think about upgrading where the team as a whole needs it. We have also brought people back, like those very creative guys from Chile, Cristian and Tomas, while at the same time we look for talent from the general market so we have all the spices for the soup,” he said.
