Director Octavio Amaro joins Whiskey Films USA

The renowned Chilean director Octavio Amaro has joined the producer Whiskey Films USA. Amaro has extensive experience in television, he has filmed and directed several commercial documentaries and short films.He began his career at MTV, where he worked from 1993 until 2001. In his own words, he learned to tell purely visual stories there, in which the star of every scene was neither a dialogue or a character, but simply a color or item.The experience at MTV, that approached him to the versatile world of video art, has also served him well in his career as an advertising manager for almost 9 years. “I always try to leave a mark from the optics and photography, it is not just a simple reality register. I really like the art work and the spontaneity in the actors” he said.He has worked for different markets in Asia, Europe, USA and Latin America. Amaro says he feels good wherever there is a motivated team and a camera in hand. “Our work has the great blessing of being absolutely universal, we are moved by the same” he said.His talent has been recognized with numerous awards, among which there is one BritFilms Award with the movie The Blind Violinist; Silver in Cannes with a social campaign, and two Emmys with the MTV Lado B. Moreover, his campaign for Skeachers has been chosen consecutively since 2006 as the best of the brand in the world.
