Luis Miguel Messianu of ALMA: The PRODU Transmedia Award reflects the success an agency with Latino DNA can have on a global scale

ALMA Creative Chairman and CEO Luis Miguel Messianu was honored on Friday, Feb. 23, with a PRODU Award for Best Transmedia Campaign for Spanish Lessons, created for the Netflix launch of the second season of Narcos. “I am pleased to receive this award on behalf of the team, a team I’m very proud of. They came up with an idea that has been very successful and shows that an agency with a Latino mentality and DNA can have the kind of thought that works on a global scale. I think it’s an idea that probably couldn´t have come from a typical general market agency” the creative said during an En Vivo interview with Richard Izarra. Last week this idea stood out in the Gunn Report as No. 5 across the US and as idea No. 23 in the whole world. “We’re very proud, and now with the PRODU Award we’ve scored an additional success,” Messianu said. “The Narcos campaign was chosen as the year’s best among all DDB offices worldwide. It’s an idea that continues to deliver. It fills us all with pride and proves that the Spanish language and knowing how to listen can open up many borders for us.”ALMA already has offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Miami and Tallahassee. “As for PRODU, I feel they have been recording the history of this evolution. The truth is, each day is a new beginning – it’s unbelievable – we’re an agency full of humility, curiosity and the desire to do good things. The best is always yet to come.”
