MetLife among the best 50 companies for multicultural business

MetLife has been chosen for the second consecutive year to be part of the annual list of DiversityBusiness.com as one of the best 50 companies that offer opportunities for multicultural business.The inclusion on this year’s list was the result of an online election that included more than 1.3 million owners of multicultural businesses. Voters had to answer 10 questions regarding the performance of the candidate companies, such as volume, consistency and quality of business opportunities provided by these companies to minority owned businesses. “To begin with, we established a diversity providers program on MetLife 10 years ago to offer opportunities to diverse providers”, said Arnold Sowa, senior vice president and purchase director at MetLife. “This is now an important part of the way we do business and we are honored to be acknowledged for our expanding job opportunities by diverse providers”.For his part, Kenton Clarke, president and CEO of DiversityBusiness.com highlighted that “organizations which constantly offer products and services to diverse companies and that sustain commercial relations in a beneficial way with their multicultural providers must be acknowledged, not only by the business community but also by the general audience”.
