David Rousseau is a well recognized director of music videos who was born in Venezuela of Cuban parents but grew up and is based in Miami.His productions capture the powerful energy of all the artists with whom he has worked and in each of his music videos he leaves his trademark of “lively colors and images that burst from the screen” says David Rousseau.He has worked with the most famous artists on the pop music scene like Pitbull, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Enrique Iglesias, Lil Jon, Ne-Yo, Akon, Fat Joe, T-Pain, LMFAO, and Jadakiss, which has in turn made him a four-time nominee for MTV Music Video Awards.One of the most-watched videos in history was directed by this talented Venezuelan and performed by Pitbull: “I Know You Want Me (Calle 8)” with more than 180 million hits on YouTube. Rousseau has directed almost all of Pitbull’s most popular videos including “Give Me Everything”, “Bon Bon” and “Hey Baby” featuring T-Pain. The video gained fame on the giant Kodak screen in Times Square, New York.Rousseau has also done his stint in advertising, directing commercials for Bud Light, Zumba, Honey Bunches of Oats and The Cove at Atlantis. His productions have a futuristic reputation because he never stops innovating and creating out-of-the-box music videos and commercials, which is also why one of his favorite directors is David Fincher, for his way with visuals.The Venezuelan director believes “the best thing about being a director is having the chance to work with very talented people and artists, and I’m always ready for the next project.” Each project is different, with an infinite number of anecdotes because “each video has a good story and the best thing is the friends you make” he says.Asked about his source of inspiration, Rousseau says “life.” That’s the main one, he says “the colors and the people I see every day”.
