The Argentinian Director, Luciano Podcaminsky began his career as Copywriter in agencies. He has been a Director since 1995, being awarded in the most relevant festivals, such as Cannes, El Sol de San Sebastián, One Show, D&AD London, CLIO, FIAP, among others. He has also served as jury in these events and has been ranked by Gunn Report and Saatchi & Saatchi.
His career covers not only advertising creation, but an artistic side with personal exhibitions and fiction pieces. His first film, The Third Pint was selected at the Festival BAFICI in 2007 and won 2008 Best Film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Recently he showed his artwork in California and now he’s launching a new short film, The Back of My Mind. “The story is about the weight we all feel internally, in our souls and minds, regarding that world of negative thoughts and pressures others and ourselves put upon us” he explained. “I wanted to do a movie which talked about this and that gave us a sense of oppression and freedom at the same time.”
The film is beginning to run around the festivals’ system, but still hasn’t debuted. “The challenge was to work with a low budget, but I found myself working with a great team of people and friends that committed to the project, that was the only way to make it possible. Filmmaking is a teamwork” he added.
Among his new projects is developing a music video for the Argentinian band, Poncho, and a documentary for a TV network that for now is confidential.
