As part of its international expansion strategy and its growth in the distribution and monetization of audiovisual content on digital platforms, Merzigo is seeking to accelerate its presence in Latin America.
The media technology company works with studios, broadcasters, and production companies to expand the reach of their content libraries across platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.
Founded in 2015 by Yigit Dogan Celik, the company currently has offices in Istanbul, London, and Los Angeles. The latter serves as its base for the Americas market, while its London office focuses on EMEA. This expansion is part of the growth Merzigo has achieved over the past eight years through partnerships with content companies on a global scale.
According to the company, Latin America is a priority within its expansion across the Americas. In this context, its upcoming partnership with Globo is being positioned as a significant step toward strengthening its regional presence.
Since Merzigo launched it has always had a presence in the market, yet unknown. It’s founding expertise The company is not approaching on YouTube and Facebook came through Turkish Drama optimization and monetization into LATAM, with the demand still growing strong helped by the format overlap with telenovelas and shared cultural emphasis on family values.
The company is not approaching this expansion solely from a distribution perspective. Its model combines rights management, localization, content operations, technology, audience analytics, and advertising monetization to adapt content to the dynamics of digital platforms.
Yigit Dogan Celik adds “What we built between Turkey and Latin America is a template for taking Latin American content to the rest of the world. The region has the IP and the storytelling tradition. What it often lacks is the technology, localization and distribution infrastructure to make that content travel and keep performing after it lands.”
Merzigo’s strategy comes at a time when rights holders are seeking to expand the exploitation windows for their content. Against a backdrop in which traditional television is experiencing changes in reach and revenue, while streaming platforms face greater competition and subscription fatigue, YouTube and Facebook are emerging as additional outlets for reaching audiences and generating revenue.
Celik continues “our ambition in Latin America isn’t to move more content. It’s to help owners turn a regional hit into a global business that runs every day of the year.”
Merzigo operates more than 6,000 official channels in over 30 languages and generates more than 17 billion monthly views. It also says it manages more than 8.5 million hours of premium intellectual property and uploads more than 7,000 unique videos every day.
Its strategy also includes content localization for different markets, a particularly relevant capability in a region such as Latin America, where multiple markets, audiences, and viewing habits coexist.
The company has more than 500 specialists and lists All3Media, Banijay Rights, Fremantle, ITV Studios, Hearst, NBCUniversal, David Letterman, and Steve Harvey among its international partners.
The strategy is also backed by a financial commitment. In late 2025, Yigit Dogan Celik announced a US$150 million investment for 2026 to support studios, broadcasters, and independent producers in expanding their content libraries for YouTube and Facebook.
Against this backdrop, Latin America is no longer simply a destination market for Merzigo, but rather a strategic region within the company’s international growth.
