The banker Rodrigo Nieto, from City National Bank, informed the Hispanic entertainment community that his entity was offering financing for cinema, TV, music and concerts, as well as all the other basic services, ranging from opening an account to handling investment portfolios.In an interview with PRODU in Miami, Nieto told the story of the bank founded 60 years ago by an executive from Columbia Pictures in the aim to cater to the US entertainment industry.In 1963, there was an important event for the bank: the son of Frank Sinatra was kidnapped and City National Bank was the only one that opened its vaults to give him money for the ransom. This, in turn, led Sinatra´s actor and singer friends to become clients of the bank.Two years ago, the bank realized the growth of the Hispanic market and opened a division to cater to the Spanish-speaking segment in all their financial needs. Currently, City National Bank has offices in Nashville and Atlanta to cover music, in Nueva York it has a big office that offers services to Broadway with its musicals and theater; in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Reno, for cinema and TV. Nieto and his team from New York cover Miami.Although it is mainly focused on the industry within the US, it is capable of handling projects in the entire region.More info. {Rodrigo Nieto;Rodrigo.Nieto-Galvis@cnb.com}
