Bonjour America TV a new French cable channel launches in South Florida through Atlantic Broadband
A new French cable channel, Bonjour America TV, launched featuring a collection of exciting French entertainment options targeted towards the French–speaking community in South Florida through Atlantic Broadband cable starting September 1st on Channel 80.
Bonjour America TV is the first American cable channel broadcasting 24/7 and 100% in French with the intent of reaching the 20 Million+ French speaking community in the United States, regardless of origin. According to the latest census figures, there are around 600,000 French and Canadian nationals in South Florida.
Bonjour America TV is a general entertainment channel delivering the best programming from France, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland while providing an American point of view and local production values.
The channel is the brainchild of Víctor J. Romero, former president & CEO of the France 24 operation in the United States, the 24 hour non-stop French international news and current affairs television channel.
“The idea for this new French cable channel originated out of the realization that there was no American cable channel targeting the huge 20 + million French speaking community in the U.S. There is another channel, TV5 Monde, which is produced in France. Our channel, Bonjour America TV, is the first and only American channel in French from the United States. Our uniqueness lies in the fact that we will program with an edgy, local, American point of view to address the nuances of this niche market”, remarked Romero who is the president and CEO of Bonjour America TV.
