Debra Juarez, VP of Digital for NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 Miami
NBC 6 / WTVJ and Telemundo 51 Miami / WSCV announced that Debra Juarez has been named VP of Digital.
She will be responsible for overseeing digital content for NBCUniversal’s South Florida duopoly stations, WTVJ and WSCV.
In her new role, she will report to Larry Olevitch, president and general manager for NBC 6 and Jorge Carballo, president and general manager for Telemundo 51.
“Debra is a newsroom strategist. She knows how to utilize content and disseminate news to local audiences, regardless of language,” said Larry Olevitch, President and General Manager, NBC 6. “Her extensive background in local broadcast will position her as a tremendous asset to our stations’ digital operations, which for the first time will be carried out as a duopoly to meet the needs of our diverse communities.”
Juarez has more than 25 years of experience running local newsrooms.
“Debra is no stranger to our market or the Telemundo family and I’m thrilled that she is joining our duopoly operation,” added Jorge Carballo, President and General Manager, Telemundo 51.
She returns to the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market after working at Telemundo network and at Fox affiliate station, WSVN-TV, earlier in her career.
“This is an exciting time in my career. I’m thrilled to join the NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 news teams to further boost their digital operations and help each station deliver the news, information and content their viewers are clamoring for and across all platforms,” concluded Juarez.
