Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic has had an intense year of original production in 2015 with a total of 250 hours made in the region for its factual, lifestyles and children’s channels. “For 2016 there is a big commitment to continue increasing local production. It is strategic for our channels. What is on the air works, but we want to innovate a bit regarding how we tell our stories. We continue to look for topics in the cars and human adventure genres. We´re looking for interesting characters with experience in the business world. Production companies can bring the character and develop the concept together with us”, explained Michela Giorelli, Production and Development VP at Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic.Among some of Discovery´s original productions made this year in Argentina are: Herencia Custom Garage (for Discovery Channel only in Argentina); Desafío fashionista 2 (pan regional) for Discovery Home & Health and Hi-5 Fiesta 2 (panregional) for Discovery Kids. Made in Brazil: Na casa dele (only Brazil on Discovery Home & Health); Parque Patati Patata (in 2016 for Discovery Kids) and O Zoo Da Zu for Brazil on Discovery Kids. In Colombia Desafío x 2 was made for Discovery Channel and in Mexico, Desafío Discovery (pan regional) by Discovery Channel; El desafío de Buddy Latinoamérica 2 (pan regional) by Discovery Home & Health; Mexicánicos 2 for Discovery Channel and African safari for Animal Planet.
