Discovery Networks Iberia has appointed Vera Buzanello as EVP General Manager, responsible for Spain and Portugal

Vera Buzanello has been named as Executive Vice President General Manager of Discovery Networks Iberia. She has been working for Discovery Networks for over 17 years leading the distribution strategy and affiliate relations for Discovery across Latin America.Due to her impressive achievements, she was nominated one of the Most powerful women in cable by US’ Cablefax Magazine in 2012, 2013 and 2015.In her new position she is responsible for defining and implementing the growth strategy of Discovery Networks in Spain and Portugal. Discovery was launched in Iberia in 1995. Although she reports to Marinella Soldi, EVP president & MD Discovery Networks Southern Europe, she will retain oversight of key strategic distribution relationships for Latin America, working with Enrique R. Martínez, president and managing director of Discovery Latin America/US Hispanic and Canada and his team throughout the region. Discovery and Eurosport have the multiplatform broadcast rights in Europe for 2018-2024 Olympic Games. In Spain, Discovery is the content provider of Discovery MAX, the free to air DTT channel by VEO TV, which celebrated its 4th anniversary in January. “Vera is one of the most successful executives in Discovery Networks International, experienced in building businesses through productive relationships that drive value for our partners and most importantly for our passionate fans. She will lead the way in bringing to life the Discovery commitment in the region, particularly with a focus on greater investment in content and local talent, while delivering our content to more screens” explained Soldi.
