An international quality production is how Coty Cagliolo, production director in Fremantle Latin America, describes the reboot of La Palabra Secreta (Password) format on Azteca Uno, hosting Lola Cortés and new game dynamics.

“We’re working again in partnership with TV Azteca, a fundamental partner in Mexico, in a format that is returning with the quality of an international production in the country which deserves content of this level,” said Cagliolo.

He explained that this return was driven by the comeback of the game show with Jimmy Fallon on NBC USA, so “it not only returns in Mexico, but it will also return to the US in a Spanish version, in addition to its first season in Argentina and from there on an international tour.”

Regarding the evolution of the format, he said that they decided to create a structure that bets only on two unknown players that, joined by two celebrities, will exercise their mental agility to take home cash-solving test dynamics in which only one will be the winner.

“We are celebrating new content for TV Azteca, the return of a world-renowned format, with a super production, a spectacular forum, and a powerful partner like Fremantle. It is a program that invites us to have fun, especially in discovering the secret word, so families can enjoy it together,” said Adrián Ortega, TV Azteca Content Director.

Cagliolo emphasized that game shows have never left Latin America, because it’s a kind of entertainment program that Latinos like to see. “With local adaptations, the audience feels identified no matter where the format comes from and we are sure that it will be the same with La Palabra Secreta, a show that existed in Mexico nine or ten years ago, and now we hope that people will be positively surprised with this new approach.”

Each broadcast will include three games: Mano a Mano, La Contraseña, and La Escalera del Dinero. The game dynamic is that one of the unknown participants, paired with a celebrity, gives a clue and his partner guesses the secret word. In the first two games, the contestants will have to guess the greatest number of secret words through clues and against time. Depending on the points gained, only one will be able to play in La Escalera del Dinero (The Money Ladder), where they will amass a certain amount every time they go up a step of the ladder.
