Hemisphere Media Group: Colombia has talent in front of and behind cameras

Jim McNamara, a partner of Hemisphere Media Group, a company that is associated with the new Canal 1, stated that Colombia is a country of great opportunities. “It has very good, world-class talent in front of and behind cameras”.

McNamara added that RCN and Caracol will be very big competitors. “We respect them very much. But I think there is space for a third nationwide network. We can fulfill our duties without bothering with our business and we think that Colombia is a very important market with a vibrant economy.”

The executive also expressed that the entrance of Canal 1 will refresh the audience options, which is normal in big countries, like for example the US. “We are going to be able to offer the Colombian audience a very interesting alternative.”
