Five years ago ¡HOLA! TV was launched, starting with 3 million subscribers and to date, it already has 22 million in the region. Mexico, one of the channel’s priority markets, has accrued 8 million.
“The key to success has been to offer content that is very difficult to find in any other channel: exclusive, first-hand. We have Access to celebrities that no one else has and the topics we cover –royalty, fashion, and lifestyle— are exclusive, as well as the way we present them,” comment Marcos Pérez, CEO and general manager of ¡HOLA! TV.
This growth comes accompanied by a big bet in original productions. Pérez says they started with two daily programs and another weekly one, and that they currently produce a daily flagship program, complemented with five or six weekly programs.
“In fact, now comes the icing on the cake that is the original program Grandes Crónicas de ¡HOLA! TV we hope to launch on October 7,” explains Pérez.
They will also renovate their graphic line for the first time. “It is more aligned with the times we are living, more modern, dynamic, more consistent with our style and image,” he added.
As for advertising sales, he mentioned that advertisers´ response has been very good. “Tourism, automotive, and beauty are sectors that go hand in hand with our content and we can offer personalized solutions. In the case of luxury items, we have worked with brands that traditionally did not advertise on TV, which have trusted ¡HOLA! TV as their first experience”.
