Javiera Balmaceda de Amazon Studios
Javiera Balmaceda was promoted to Head of Local Originals, Spanish Speaking Latin America at Amazon Studios. Her previous position was Head of Originals for Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. Balmaceda has worked at Amazon Studios since 2019 but entered the company in 2017, where she started in content acquisition in Latin America.
With more than twenty years in the industry, Javiera Balmaceda was also Programming Director at HBO and at DLA, among others.
Chilean, the daughter of a couple who lived in exile, leaving Chile in 1975, she grew up in the US. She studied economy at Wesleyan University.
