Praise ChanMi Shin, founder and CEO of the Korean distributor Just IPicked, spoke with PRODU during LA Screenings 2026, where she announced a new expansion strategy focused on Latin America, presenting a catalog designed to connect with regional audiences through competition, drama, and youthful passion.

In a global market where Korean content continues to set trends, Just IPicked positions itself as an essential bridge between independent Korean production companies and major international channels and platforms. According to Praise, the key to the success of Korean formats lies in a fast-paced production ecosystem and strong government support that prioritizes constant creativity over traditional sequels.

The company highlighted two flagship formats with strong local adaptation potential. The first is Better on the Box and the second is Smarter Than You: Campus Battle.

Better on the Box is an innovative survival game show where the participants’ physical space depends directly on their performance in the competition. The format combines visually dynamic elements inspired by social media platforms like TikTok with the emotional tension of competitive drama,” said Praise.

Meanwhile, the executive explained that Smarter Than You: Campus Battle is a competition format that brings the historic rivalry between universities into the world of television entertainment. The format aims to capture the freshness and passion of people in their twenties, while offering aspirational content for audiences of all ages.

Just IPicked is a Seoul-based agency dedicated to the creation and distribution of innovative entertainment formats. “We specialize in identifying and exporting intellectual property (IP) with global potential. The company focuses on representing independent Korean production companies, serving as the strategic link that allows these creative ideas to flourish in international markets,” she added.
