Malena Productions: Offering the film La Broma de la Justicia

At SD-FICMARKET in the Dominican Republic, Sara Morbidi, general producer of Malena Productions, presented two projects: one is the film La Broma de la Justicia, which premiered in local theaters in August and is being offered for distribution.

“It has an educational purpose because all my projects have that line in common.” The plot is about Eduardo, a young lawyer with an ethical code who is determined to expose the corruption of a powerful politician in his country. “There are three distribution companies interested, but we haven’t closed any deal yet and that’s why we’re here looking for more options.”

Malena Productions is also offering El Tesoro de Mari, a suspense film “about the kidnapping of five children and where we see how the families relate to those children.” Different families are features, but with something in common. “Giving value back to family relationships.”

In addition to being a filmmaker, Morbidi is a therapist. “The stories come from the experience, from the stories I heard during the pandemic.”

Bajo Sospecha is another of the projects for which she was contacted. Is about a true story of a “man from Ecuador who was imprisoned because he was accused of having killed a child because he is a shooter.” In addition, she has another independent film proposal called Morir Vivir.
