Miguel Varoni’s most recent role was serving as one of the directors of Velvet, El Nuevo Imperio
After 22 years working in various executive roles and as a director, Miguel Varoni has concluded his time with Telemundo. The Colombian actor, director, and executive announced his departure on the program La Red on Caracol Televisión.
He recalled that when he began at Telemundo, it was a small programming company, and later they started outperforming Univisión with productions such as Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso, La Reina Del Sur, El Señor De Los Cielos, and Señora Acero. He shared that Telemundo gave him the opportunity to work as a producer, director, and actor.
“It was a unique experience and I am absolutely grateful. At Telemundo I directed in Mexico and Colombia; I acted in Mexico and Colombia; I did production in Miami — I did everything. And at the executive level, as VP of Production, I was involved in all the meetings and decisions. It was a wonderful experience and I’m grateful for all the opportunities,” he said.
In an official statement, Telemundo noted: “Miguel has been a fundamental part of numerous Telemundo productions, from his beginnings as an actor in series such as La Casa De Al Lado, Marido En Alquiler, and El Señor De Los Cielos, among others. After transitioning behind the scenes, he brought his creative vision to directing successful series such as El Conde: Amor Y Honor, Velvet, El Nuevo Imperio, and Sed De Venganza. We thank him for his years of valuable contributions to the network and wish him success in his future projects.”
