NEEWZ.AI UGC Content Platform Opens Access for Media, Journalists and Influencers to Provide Timely Information on the Venezuelan Tragedy

Using its AI-powered infrastructure, the platform captured more than 700 verified UGC videos within the first 10 minutes of the disaster

The NEEWZ.AI platform, led by CEO Rodrigo Gonzales, which enables media organizations to discover, verify, and license user-generated content (UGC) in real time, is offering free access to media outlets, journalists, influencers, and rescue workers to provide verified information from content creators about rescue and relief efforts following the double earthquake in Venezuela, amid the country’s information blackout. Those interested can contact Gonzales at rodrigo@neewz.io and/or Jonathan Blum at jonathan@neewz.io to obtain access.

NEEWZ.AI has deployed a network of more than 20 independent journalists on the ground. Using its AI-powered infrastructure, the platform captured more than 700 verified UGC videos within the first 10 minutes of the disaster and has maintained a steady flow of approximately 100 clips per hour. All material is technically validated and editorially verified within seconds by a team led by former CNN Brasil and MSNBC correspondents, ensuring its authenticity against deepfakes and official propaganda.

“We decided to launch and build a product dedicated exclusively to what is happening in Venezuela. We started deploying the technology and, within minutes, found a large amount of user-generated content showing what had happened there: buildings collapsing, the destruction caused by the earthquake, the fear, a tremendous amount of information, including security camera footage and videos from people on the ground using their phones. At that moment, we realized that our most important mission would be to build this solution and make it available to as many people as possible,” Gonzales told PRODU.

FREE ACCESS

Gonzales highlighted the three main reasons why the company decided to open the platform during the crisis.

“First of all, NEEWZ.AI was created to give the media and entertainment industries the ability to see events through the eyes of the people actually on the ground. The second reason was to support humanitarian aid. The third was communication. We realized that not all information, narratives, or reporting are the same. That’s why we’re giving journalists, influencers, and media organizations that want first-hand coverage from people living through these events the opportunity to access the platform free of charge, without having to request anything,” he explained.

He added that, given the severe limitations on information and communications in Venezuela, the company connected with content creators and journalists whose channels reach audiences across the Spanish-speaking world and Europe so they could tell the story as it is actually unfolding.

“We built a community of more than 20 journalists and creators located in different parts of Venezuela who can share what’s happening. That information ultimately contributes to news coverage and helps people understand the type of assistance that is needed. We’ve distributed a great deal of material showing animals that could not be rescued, the urgent need for food and water—issues that traditional media are not always focused on. There is a need for another source, another place that can tell what’s really happening,” he said.

VERIFIED INFORMATION

Gonzales emphasized that every video and piece of information available on the platform undergoes a rigorous verification process.

“Every video and every piece of information we publish on the platform is verified and analyzed beforehand. First, we confirm that it is from the correct location, and we investigate as deeply as possible to understand exactly where it was recorded. Why is that so important? Because that’s precisely what happened in Venezuela. The earthquake affected many different places, and Venezuela is a large country. Caracas alone is enormous. Sometimes the difference between one location and another is just five minutes away—or several hours by road. It’s essential to know the exact location where a family is. We’re now receiving information directly from our journalists. They’ve already begun moving around, and we’re sending them to the areas where the most significant developments are taking place and where rescue teams are arriving, so we can deliver breaking news and accurate information. Every piece of content is continuously verified and analyzed through our system and technology to ensure that nothing inaccurate is ever published,” he said.
