Iris Delgado will anchor Noticiero Telemundo62 at 5pm

Telemundo62/WWSI (Greater Philadelphia) announced that it will launch a new half-hour weekday newscast on Monday, September 26 at 5pm. Iris Delgado will anchor Noticiero Telemundo62 a las 5pm, the market’s only live and locally-produced Spanish-language newscast in the time period that will deliver viewers the latest breaking news and weather forecasts, first.

The added newscast will also provide an additional 150 minutes of local breaking news coverage each week, more than any other Spanish-language station in the market.

Telemundo62 is one of 14 Telemundo-owned stations that will add a new half-hour local newscast at 5pm ET/ 4pm CT on September 26, to deliver even more local news and information to the communities the station serves.

“We are thrilled that Iris Delgado will lead our 5pm newscast. We also look forward to expanding our coverage for our viewers so they can be even more connected to what is happening in their communities,” said Ric Harris, president and general manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62.

A familiar face to viewers in the Greater Philadelphia area, Delgado joined Telemundo62 in 2013 and was part of the news team that helped to launch the station’s first-ever Spanish-language newscasts two years ago. In addition to anchoring Noticiero Telemundo62 a las 5pm, she will continue to report for WWSI’s weekday newscasts at 6pm and 11pm.
