Matías Novoa and Marisol del Olmo star in Roy Rojas’ El Renacer De Luna for TelevisaUnivision

TelevisaUnivision held the presentation of its new telenovela El Renacer De Luna, which premieres next Monday, June 22, at 6:30pm on Las Estrellas. Producer Roy Rojas explained that the essence of the story, starring Marisol del Olmo, Matías Novoa, Marlene Favela, and Flavio Medina, comes from the 1989 drama Morir para Vivir, which was produced at the time by actress Ana Martín.

“The story originates from Morir para Vivir, written by Félix Benjamín Caignet, a pioneer of radio dramas in Mexico. However, this is not a remake of the 1989 version; it is an adaptation that my writers and I developed from the original 1960s work to create a very different story,” he explained regarding the script. He added that this version is “deeply Mexican and contemporary, while preserving the essence of the great classic melodrama that made us fall in love with the great telenovelas throughout our history.”

CONNECTING WITH AUDIENCES THROUGH CLASSIC MELODRAMA

Following the presentation of the cast and the theme song performed by singer Yuri, Rojas emphasized that TelevisaUnivision continues to work for its audience and listen to viewers: “Today we live in a world that is constantly changing. That is why we believe that stories that truly connect with people’s hearts are more important than ever.”

He concluded by saying that El Renacer De Luna “is a commitment to making television with passion, identity, and a great deal of heart.”

PASSION, BETRAYAL, AND REDEMPTION IN PRIMETIME

El Renacer De Luna is a telenovela centered on love, betrayal, revenge, and redemption. It tells the stories of two remarkable women: Luna (Mar Sordo), who must choose between destroying those who deceived her or rising again to seek justice; and Maya (Marisol del Olmo), who, after divorcing her abusive husband Pancho (Flavio Medina), finds support and hope in Sebastián (Matías Novoa).

The series is based on the original work of Félix B. Caignet, with adaptation and scripts by Jaime Sierra and Helena Aguilera.
