“In the coming years, we will see something similar to Madrid Content City in Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries where we can continue to grow,” Raúl Berdonés, founder and president of Grupo Secuoya, told PRODU.

The announcement came while he was touring the stands exhibition at Iberseries Platino Industria, where Madrid Content City has one. Previously he gave the opening speech of the event, of which Secuoya is part of the owners and organizers.

“Latin America is essential for the world of audiovisual production, and that Spain and Latin America are united means a great potential,” he said.

Madrid Content City is described as the largest audiovisual hub in Europe with 140 thousand expandable square meters. It also has a university, student residences, a supermarket, a gas station, and a subway station. Netflix has 5 studios there.

“The integration of the university with the talent and with the industry has worked, is working and makes sense. It is a successful project and we are going to extend it to Latin America,” he said.

He also referred to audiovisuals as a secure investment, one of the purposes of Iberseries Platino Industria is to enlighten funders about the benefits of audiovisuals. “It is a safe and useful investment,” he emphasized.
