Sobreviví with Sofia Niño de Rivera is YouTube Premium’s first original series in Spanish

YouTube Premium announced its first project in Spanish: Sobreviví, is a half-hour comedy to be launched in eight episodes, created by the stand-up comedian Sofía Niño de Rivera, who is also the star, together with Félix de Valdivia.

Sobreviví follows Sofía (Sofía Niño de Rivera) while she tries to survive the very little glamorous life of a standup comedian in Mexico. The series will be launched October 3 as the first original YouTube Premium series in Spanish and the cast will include Ricardo Peralta, Ricardo Pérez, Ana González Bello, Octavio Hinojosa, Ariane Pellicer, and Xavier Cervantes.

Along with Sobreviví, the platform is producing a non-scripted musical project with the Colombian singer Maluma.

Last month plans had also been announced with the actor Gael García Bernal. It is the acquisition of the rights of the thriller
Museo, starring the Mexican actor that will be launched on the platform the same day of the release of the film in the Toronto Film Festival. It is the first film in Spanish acquired by YouTube Premium.

This film was written and directed by Alonso Ruiz Palacios. It was screened this year at the Berlin Film Festival and tells the story of one of the biggest art robberies in Mexico’s history.
