SOMOS Group: In 10 years we have created stable and financially strong companies

In SOMOS Group’s first 10 years of operations their most important achievements, according to the CEO and president, Luis Villanueva, is going from having emerging companies (SOMOS TV and SOMOS Distribution) to having solid and financially stable companies.

“These years prove that the things we decided to participate in, we have been a serious competitor that fulfills objectives,” he emphasized.

As an example of that determination, he mentioned the cases of SOMOS Films, the youngest company in the group, that is already in the pre-production phase of its fifth film; and of Semillitas, which has extended its distribution beyond the US.

“SOMOS Films is a company in which one day we decided to make films and today we are making our fourth movie. One day we decided to have an animated channel in the US, then we extended it to all Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico, and we continue on that same path. Once we set a goal as to where we want to go, we make our best effort to achieve it,” he comments.

The movies SOMOS Films has made to date are Especial, Muerte en Berruecos, and Voy Por Ti. Additionally, they are finishing the fourth film in Mexico and a fifth one is in pre-production in Puerto Rico.

For Villanueva production of contents is vital and through SOMOS Productions they handle around 15 stories in different development stages. He said that LA Screenings will take two more stories of the agreement signed with Grupo Fénix, one of them is a youth project.
