Team of anchors: Hernán Fratto, Jessica Delgado, César Rodríguez and Rodrigo Arana and weekend reporters Angélica Gómez and Jorge DeSantiago
Telemundo Chicago/WSNS announced that it will launch four new half-hour weekend newscasts on Saturday, July 22. WSNS’s weekend edition of Noticiero Telemundo Chicago will air on Saturday and Sunday at 5pm and 10pm.
Telemundo Chicago’s new newscasts will feature news anchor Hernán Fratto, weather anchor Jessica Delgado, and weekend reporters Angélica Gómez and Jorge DeSantiago.
Sports will be anchored by César Rodríguez on Saturdays and Rodrigo Arana on Sundays. The station’s new weekend news team will deliver viewers in Chicago an additional 120 minutes of local breaking news coverage and information each week, more than any other Spanish-language station in the market.
“This local news investment delivers on the commitment we have to our viewers to give them the most up-to-date information across all platforms no matter the day of the week. We look forward to serving those communities that rely on our news as a trusted source to stay connected,” said David Doebler, president and general manager of Telemundo Chicago.
Telemundo Chicago’s local news expansion is the latest in a series of enhancements made by the Telemundo Station Group to all of its owned stations across the United States and Puerto Rico, thanks to a significant investment made by NBCUniversal to better serve the flourishing Spanish-speaking community.
NBCUniversal’s investment in its Telemundo-owned stations, including Telemundo Chicago has helped to transform the stations and to usher in a new era in Spanish-language local news.
