Actors María Fernanda Yepes and Iván Arana presented the trailer for the new super series Dinastía Casillas
Hispanic comedian Marcello Hernández, a cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL), opened the segment dedicated to the impact and significance of the Hispanic audience and Telemundo during NBCUniversal’s Upfront on Monday, May 12, at Radio City Music Hall.

Hernández referenced several Latin stars who have appeared on SNL—Karol G, Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, Shakira—“speaking to the power of the U.S. Hispanic audience. For those who don’t know, my mom is Cuban, my dad is Dominican, and my stepfather is a Cuban immigrant. As a child of immigrants, I believe it’s more important than ever to be represented and to show how valuable we are, especially with all the negative stories about immigrants in the media. We can talk about how, despite making up 19.5% of the U.S. population, Latinos have driven 30% of the country’s GDP growth since 2019. Last year’s report showed the Latino GDP reached US$4.1 trillion—ranking as the fifth-largest in the world. We are a massive part of the audience portfolio, with major cultural influence and purchasing power,” he said.
Hernández then introduced Jacky Bracamontes, host of the upcoming reality series Miss Universe Latina, debuting June 3 on Telemundo.

Bracamontes stated: “For U.S. Latinos, Telemundo is more than a TV network—it’s the unrivaled home of Spanish-language television, made by Latinos for Latinos. Latinos are driving U.S. population growth, cultural influence, and economic power, with over US$1.9 trillion in annual purchases. Telemundo is where this powerhouse audience connects and celebrates. From major sports events to breaking news and can’t-miss franchises like La Casa de los Famosos, the Latin Billboard Music Awards, and Top Chef VIP, Telemundo is number one in primetime for a reason. And in 2026, it’s going to be even bigger when the FIFA World Cup returns to the U.S.—the ultimate celebration of soccer, culture, and community. Every unforgettable moment will be on Telemundo and Peacock. We’re not just covering history—we’re hosting it. We know Latinos like no one else does.”
The presentation included a video showcasing Telemundo’s top events, culminating in a musical performance themed around the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
Actors Iván Arana and María Fernanda Yepes also presented the trailer for the new super series Dinastía Casillas, a spin-off of El Señor de los Cielos.
This year, Telemundo’s segment at NBCUniversal’s Upfront received more time than in previous years, with special emphasis on its news and sports programming within the content lineup.
