Televisa will release on June 13 at 6:30pm on Las Estrellas, the fifth season of its episodic series Esta Historia Me Suena, produced by Genoveva Martínez, who assured that the content reaches the screens with great learning, highlighting songs from the 1990s and 2000s, assuring that current music themes are not as well accepted by the audience as those of those years.

She spoke of the importance of episodic series on open television, at a time when there is a saturation of streaming content. “This fifth season will consist of 25 episodes in which we have represented each of the learnings that the previous four left us. The concept has been adjusted and we have learned that all musical genres are worthy and that Mexico and Latin America are very musical. We have also noticed that recent music themes are not as well accepted as the ones from the 80s or 90s, which are linked to our notion that each one of us has a playlist of our lives, songs that are associated with important memories” she commented.

As for the topics of the stories, Martínez highlighted that another finding regarding the audience was that fantasy topics don’t do well, “people want to see real situations. In the case of episodic series, that is what they are looking for. In consequence, we will present updated and permanent stories such as love, mystery, and suspense, but will also cover social reality, like disappearances and femicides. Those are very adult topics that require more sophisticated production”.

The producer assured that this program is more sophisticated in terms of production since the format allows taking more time to shoot each episode: “We have three days to shoot each episode, this is twice the time that in other productions under my responsibility, as in Como Dice el Dicho, which enables us to offer a better-manufactured product regarding optics, texture, and image, with stories of greater quality for an audience we know is able to appreciate it”.

Finally, she believes that open TV is the ideal platform for episodic series, since “this format has acquired great strength because current lifestyle makes it more difficult to follow content for a long time, we want everything quickly and to be able to tell the story in an hour is a huge advantage over other formats that demand more time on the screen. The episodic series on open TV continues to be a winning format”.

The new season of Esta Historia Me Suena will present 25 emotional stories framed in the lyrics of the following songs: Leona Dormida (Lupita D ́Alessio), Creo en Mí (Natalia Jiménez), Cruz de Olvido (Pablo Montero), Una Aventura (Grupo Niche), Siempre a Mí and Un Día Más de Vida (Gloria Trevi), Una Hora Más (Moenia), Libre (Alejandra Guzmán), Creo en Ti (Reik), and Torero (Chayanne), among others.
