Televisa: We understood that we had to spend more time on the written material

Eduardo Clemesha, executive producer at Televisa, thinks that content generation now has the advantage of time. “We understood that we had to spend more time on written material. Many of the series that are being launched now started as projects two years ago. It is necessary to focus on scripts, on finding characters with which you feel you have things in common, who make you feel things.”

Clemesha states that in this new complementary content line they already have eight finished productions, two that are being shot and two others in post production. Between 12 and 14 other products are also being developed.

“The second season of 40 y 20 is being finished and delivered. We are writing the third and fourth season. We already have 10 episodes of Diablo Guardián almost ready. We will start to shoot the second season, that will also have 10 episodes, in January. And the shooting of Falsos Falsificadores already started.”

Clemesha also highlighted the new series Sincronía, created by Gustavo Loza (40 y 20), that will be broadcast at the beginning of 2017. “Its narrative is truly innovative. You will be able to watch whichever episode you want on Blim, there is no order. It is the first series in which you decide the order you watch the episodes in and it isn’t an episodic series. Everything revolves around an event and four different perspectives. This is the type of innovation we are betting on.”

A window like Blim, he states, changes the way things are done. “This platform gives us the freedom of time, of language, it gives us many licenses we couldn’t have had nine years ago.”
