Univision Communications appoints Belinda Garza to VP of Government Relations and Public Engagement

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Belinda Garza to vice president of Government Relations and Public Engagement. Garza will be based in Washington, D.C. and will report directly to Bert Gómez, senior vice president of Government Relations. In this new position, Garza will manage political relations in Congress and in key state capitols, and will work to extend the Company’s presence with non-traditional stakeholders, such as business and trade associations, think tanks, and a range of federal and state agencies. She will also work closely with Univision’s Empowerment, Advocacy and Community teams, assist with Univision’s Political Action Committee and help enhance the Company’s presence in Washington, D.C. and key state capitols. Prior to joining Univision, Garza served most recently as director of Federal Government Relations at Walmart, where she spent the past 10 years building relationships in Congress, third-party organizations and a range of Washington, D.C.-based leaders.
