Víctor Mayol, head of Palma Media, emphasizes that today’s audiovisual industry requires a balance between technological innovation and professional rigor

At a time when audiovisual content is consumed beyond traditional screens, Spanish executive Víctor Mayol, head of Palma Media, is a key figure in the industry’s evolution. With over 25 years of experience, his ability to apply television’s high standards to digital platforms and corporate events has allowed him to lead productions that meet today’s demands while anticipating the market’s future. In 2022, Mayol founded and now leads Palma Media, a company that develops innovative and high-quality audiovisual projects for various markets.

TELEVISION EXPERIENCE AS A CORE VALUE

Mayol emphasizes that today’s audiovisual industry requires a balance between technological innovation and professional rigor. He believes his extensive TV background gives him a unique perspective, having managed complex productions, adapted to live broadcasting, and maintained high technical and narrative quality. “Today, that experience is essential in traditional television as well as corporate and digital environments,” he says.

Through Palma Media, Mayol has combined technical discipline with adaptive creativity to ensure that each production meets the highest standards. He highlights his ability to optimize resources and maximize content impact, positioning his company as a leader in the audiovisual market.

FROM TELEVISION SUCCESS TO NEW DIGITAL CHALLENGES

Mayol began his career at 17 as a camera operator for Spain’s Canal 4. By 22, he was the Camera Director for Operación Triunfo, produced by Gestmusic Endemol Shine in Barcelona. “This television phenomenon, with millions of viewers, not only marked an era in Spain but also laid the foundation for my professional ethics and commitment to quality,” he says.

His time at Mediaset España, working on shows like El Comecocos and Trencadís (8TV), helped him refine his expertise in live productions. In 2015, he took on the role of Technical Director for Exportando Perú on Perú TV, successfully adapting to diverse markets and cultural contexts.

INNOVATION IN THE U.S. AUDIOVISUAL MARKET

Mayol’s move to the U.S. marked a new phase focused on innovation in the Hispanic market. As the Technical Director for the Voces series for HITN and HispanoPost Media Group, he supervised the production of over 600 news capsules, bringing significant Hispanic community stories to more than 44 million households. One such production featured Nathalie Quintero, an aerospace engineer leading operations for NASA’s Artemis 2 mission.

During the pandemic, his role as Technical Director for Coronavirus in Real Time on PBS South Florida was “crucial.” Between March and June 2020, he led the daily broadcast of five news programs, implementing the vMix system to optimize remote production at a critical moment.

In the sports industry, he served as a Technical Producer for live content during the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup final, coordinating a team of 15 from Miami and ensuring dynamic coverage for millions of global viewers.

A GROWING, HIGH-IMPACT LGBTQ+ MARKET

Mayol has also recognized the potential of the LGBTQ+ market, a high-income segment generating billions of dollars annually. Through Palma Media, he has collaborated with Atlantis Events and the National LGBTQ Task Force on events such as the Winter Party Festival, creating authentic and effective promotional campaigns. He emphasizes that his blend of technical expertise and creative sensitivity has maximized the impact of these productions in an increasingly competitive market.

RECOGNITION AND FUTURE VISION

In 2023, Mayol received the Outstanding Leadership and Entrepreneur award from Carlos Cevallos, an honor he shared with journalist Ariel Osorio. “This recognition underscores my ability to lead in an ever-evolving industry,” he states.

Through Palma Media, he continues exploring new ways to tell stories that inform, inspire, and connect with global audiences. “My ability to adapt to new platforms and my commitment to excellence position me as an essential professional in the future of audiovisual production,” he concludes.
