Vision Entertainment Studios Launches Drama-Thriller Sangre Brava, Directed by Adrián Grünberg with Alexandro Aldrete as Head Writer

Vision Entertainment Studios, the sister company of Vision Entertainment, is taking Sangre Brava to market, a family drama-thriller set in the worlds of professional rodeo and jaripeo in northern Mexico, with a creative team led by Alexandro Aldrete as Head Writer and Adrián Grünberg as director.

Aldrete previously co-created and co-wrote ¿Quién lo Mató? for Amazon, and his credits also include The House of Flowers for Netflix. Grünberg, meanwhile, directed Rambo: Last Blood, starring Sylvester Stallone, and Get the Gringo, starring Mel Gibson, which he also co-wrote. His most recent work includes The Gringo Hunters, a Netflix original, on which he served as executive producer and director.

“I’m drawn to telling a story rooted in a world that is so distinctly ours, such as jaripeo, a deeply Mexican tradition that is part of our culture and heritage,” said Aldrete.

Set in Nuevo León, Sangre Brava unfolds across two worlds connected by a shared passion for horses and bulls, but divided by deep social and economic differences: the large ranches and breeding operations associated with professional rodeo, and the popular world of jaripeo, palenques and music.

“Rodeo and jaripeo are dramatically and visually powerful worlds. Northern Mexico offers incredible locations for a story that combines action and romance,” said Grünberg.

The story follows Javier, a young man who returns from the U.S. to Nuevo León to investigate the disappearance of his biological mother and infiltrate, under a false identity, the powerful family of breeders he believes is responsible. His quest for justice and revenge, however, becomes complicated when he falls in love with Regina, a corridos tumbados singer who turns out to be the daughter of the very family Javier has vowed to destroy.

In addition to Sangre Brava, Vision Entertainment Studios is developing several film and television projects with various platforms and production partners, with a slate spanning Mexico, Latin America, Spain and the U.S.
