Antes y Fabulosa con Dr. Lipo is a make-over reality project that Underdog began in 2016 with César Velilla, a Miami plastic surgeon, who is very successful, and who’s clients refer to as Dr. Lipo. Andrés Wolff, Creative Director and Founder of the company, explained this is a great finding for the Latino market, because this type of reality, that has to do with surgeries appeal to people, but Latinos have always had to watch translated cable TV productions. “We realized that there was no content of this sort in Spanish and we shot some initial episodes for Internet, then made a pilot for TV and took it to NATPE. We had to make some adjustments regarding what TV channels request and we are currently in conversations for digital platforms and open TV” he added.In Wolff’s own words, this is about the transformation of the ugly duckling into swan. “Until now, we have mostly recorded transformations of women. We want to include men, but the ones who show up are most women who want a radical change in their appearance. This is what it is about, with the Latino flavor and style. The set is very nice, we shot it in 4K with the RED and it is resulting very nice” he ended.
