Raza Brava, the series created by Hernán Caffiero and produced by DeCulto together with Atómica Group, Wild Sheep Content, and The Mediapro Studio, with the support of Chile’s CNTV, will unveil its first images and official trailer on October 1 during Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025. WildSheep Content and The Mediapro Studio Distribution hold the international sales rights for the series.
This drama is backed by Colo-Colo, Chile’s most iconic soccer club, with more than 9 million fans and currently celebrating its centennial.
“Raza Brava is a story that, while set against the backdrop of soccer, speaks about who we are as a society: our loyalties, contradictions, and dreams. It’s a tale born in Chile, but one that resonates anywhere sport and popular identity become a mirror of life itself,” said Caffiero, who serves as writer and director.
Erik Barmack, producer at WildSheep Content, said: “Raza Brava captures the passion of soccer while telling a story that goes far beyond the sport. Collaborating with Hernán and his team on a project so deeply rooted in Chilean culture, yet with universal themes, is a privilege, and we are eager to share it with audiences worldwide.”
“Raza Brava is an example of how a story born from a local phenomenon can aspire to achieve global resonance. Beyond soccer as a universal language, the series reflects emotions and human conflicts that transcend cultures and generations. It is a borderless drama that connects with the deepest aspects of our human condition,” said Javier Esteban, International Director of The Mediapro Studio.
Raza Brava, based on real events that took place in Santiago de Chile more than 25 years ago, uses soccer as the backdrop for a plot that delves into the complexity of human relationships and their contradictions, exploring themes such as loyalty, betrayal, family, identity, belonging, and resilience. Although the action unfolds in Chile across two decades—from the 1980s, during Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship, up to the year 2000—its reach extends much further thanks to its ability to tackle universal themes that transcend borders and local contexts.

Raza Brava’s behind the scenes
The drama follows Carlos “Barti” Aguilar, a young man from a working-class neighborhood in Santiago who rises to lead Colo-Colo’s notorious fan group, the Garra Blanca. Alongside his childhood friend and rival, Clavo, Barti enters a violent underworld marked by power struggles, crime, and corruption, where soccer becomes both a source of hope and a path to destruction.
The lead roles are played by Gabriel Muñoz, son of Daniel Muñoz, in his first starring role, joined by Karla Melo (El Reemplazante) and David Gaete (Matar a Pinochet). Thousands of Colo-Colo fans participated as extras, bringing authenticity to the scenes shot at Santiago’s Estadio Monumental—the club’s legendary stadium—and in various locations across the Chilean capital.
