Diego Yurkievich
After five years working at Conill, senior creative and CCO Diego Yurkievich has announced his departure from the agency. “The five years I spent at Conill were very productive and very good in terms of numbers” he told PRODU.During his tenure, the Conill Creative Department was known for its fine work that won several awards and a number pitches, including such standouts as AMPM, Lowes, Denny’s, Nationwide, Audible and T-Mobile Social, while “increasing the agency’s revenues from $30 million to $42 million and placing it in first place among multicultural agencies in the U.S.” He said that working with a brand like Toyota nationwide with Saatchi & Saatchi L.A. for 5 years “was another pleasure, one of the best clients I’ve had in my whole career.” Though he did not reveal his next steps, he said he was weighing his options: “The world and the industry are changing faster every day. Now is my time for meditation and introspection, and I am doing precisely that – thinking about what it is I really feel like doing. When one door closes, thousands open up, and I want to be the one who designs the path I take from here on. I don’t want to be reactive.” The U.S. Hispanic Market is and will continue to be an amazing opportunity for any brand, Yurkievich said. Numbers will prove this in the upcoming census. “Business models in the industry are changing so much, as are the way solutions are reached. And that is where the trick lies. Many big agencies are a bit obsolete, they need too many people to reach solutions…they are expensive and slow. So that’s where I think the focus must be placed – on which is the most efficient business model not only for clients but also for general market agencies, which are almost always the ones brands pick.” For its part the agency confirmed the executive’s exit. “Conill is fortunate to have a deep bench of talented creative leaders. We are evaluating opportunities that will place the agency in the best position to deliver business-building solutions for all clients,” the agency told PRODU.
