Walter Thompson presented its analysis of consumer trends for 2016, The future 100: trends and Change to Watch in 2016, divided in 10 categories, including Culture, Tech and Innovation; Brands and Marketing; and Lifestyle.These are five of the trends highlighted for 2016:1. Un-tabooing Womanhood. Women´s topics that were previously taboo are being unearthed and revealed: menstruation, corporal hair, underwear hygiene, among others, are aspects that will be in the forefront. 2. Silicon Valley´s Next Frontier: Public infrastructure. According to JWT this is the latest utopian ambition for the tech elite. 3. Cuban touristic market is ready to take off. Travelers are in a hurry to see the old Cuba and brands are competing to enter the market. 4. Neuromarketing enters the realm of true science. Although it has been a buzzword in agencies, this year it is expected to move into serious science, contributing viable predictive insights and making traditional market researchers take note. 5.- Satellite retail. Retailers are turning to data gathered from satellites to track traffic to stores in real time.
