Carlos Mesber, CEO, We Love Entertainment: "We are a studio that develops formats, series, films, and content for the international market"

We Love Entertainment will celebrate the fourth anniversary of its flagship program ¡Siéntese Quien Pueda! in August. For Carlos Mesber, CEO, the company’s greatest achievement has been proving that “an independent company can compete at the highest level in U.S. Hispanic television.”

“When we launched ¡Siéntese Quien Pueda!, many people thought it would be impossible to establish a successful daily entertainment format again in such a competitive market. Four years later, we’re still on the air, evolving, growing, and becoming a recognized brand,” Mesber told PRODU.

He added that his greatest satisfaction has been building a company with its own identity, capable of producing daily content with high quality standards while earning the trust of its partners. “Today, We Love Entertainment is no longer just a production company. We are a studio that develops formats, series, films, and content for the international market. And we do everything with a great deal of love—love for our clients, our partners, and our team, which is the most important thing.”

THREE HOURS OF LIVE DAILY BROADCAST TV IN THE U.S.

Mesber said the journey to reach this point has been many years in the making. “I worked in Venezuela, Mexico, and the U.S., learning different ways of producing television. At Telemundo, I had the opportunity to produce major formats and gain invaluable experience, but the biggest turning point came when the opportunity arose to develop projects for Univision,” he said.

He emphasized that nothing happens by chance and that success is the result of extraordinary teams, preparation, and the ability to understand what audiences want.

“Today, producing three hours of live television every day for U.S. broadcast TV is an enormous responsibility, but it also confirms that when you do things with consistency and passion, opportunities come. Just four months after leaving Telemundo, we were already announcing our arrival at TelevisaUnivision during the Upfront,” he said.

INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION

Asked about the international distribution of the company’s productions, led by Guadalupe D’Agostino, Mesber said they are “very excited” about this new stage.

He noted that D’Agostino is leading the strategy exceptionally well, and the company is already in discussions with multiple markets and potential partners that continue to join the distribution of its content.

“The goal is not only for our current programs to travel internationally, but also for the new formats, documentaries, series, and films we’re developing,” he said.

He added that We Love Entertainment aims to be recognized not only for producing content for the U.S. market but also for exporting intellectual property to the rest of the world.

FIRST ENGLISH-LANGUAGE SERIES: BABÚ

For Mesber, We Love Entertainment’s first original English-language series, Babú, is one of the most significant projects of his career.

“It’s my first series in English, and it represents many years of work and passion. Since LA Screenings, we’ve continued meeting with platforms, studios, and international distributors. The interest remains strong, which makes us very optimistic. I still can’t announce anything because these processes take time and require confidentiality, but I can say that Babú is moving forward very well,” he said.

He described Babú as a unique global comedy with a deeply human message about identity, immigration, and self-love. “I believe that universality is precisely what is generating so much interest,” he added.

THE FILM MALIKA

Mesber also discussed the feature film Malika, saying it is currently in a “very important” phase of financial structuring and international partnerships.

“It’s an ambitious co-production involving several countries, and we want to make it with the level of quality the story deserves. We’ve continued working with our partners in Europe, refining every aspect of the project before entering production. It’s a very special film for me because it conveys powerful messages through a deeply human story, and we’d rather take the necessary time to do it right,” he said.

STRONGEST PORTFOLIO EVER FOR MIPCOM

The executive said We Love Entertainment will attend MIPCOM 2026 with the strongest portfolio in its history.

In addition to continuing to promote its current productions, the company will officially present several fiction and film projects, including the comedy series Babú; the feature film Malika; Fiorella’s Book; The Man in the Painting (El Hombre del Cuadro); the series I Am Mexican (Soy Mexicana); The Unbearables (Los Insoportables); One More at Home (Uno Más En Casa); the docu-reality Back to Roots; and the telenovela Madame Yaman, along with new entertainment formats.

“Our goal is no longer simply to produce for a specific market. We are an intellectual property studio with the ability to develop content for streaming platforms, television networks, and international distributors,” he concluded.
