PRODU exclusively visited the set of the third season of Juego de Voces, an original format from TelevisaUnivision that aims to bring back the essence of family television under a new premise: direct competition between siblings. With a technical deployment of more than 350 people and a simultaneous premiere in Mexico and the U.S., the production seeks to raise the standards of musical entertainment.

A FORMAT TO BRING FAMILIES TOGETHER

For Angélica Vale, who once again serves as host, returning to the project represents an opportunity to reconnect with audiences through content suitable for all ages. Vale noted that the show breaks with the audience fragmentation caused by digital platforms.

“It’s a show you can sit down and watch with your kids, your parents, your uncles, your grandchildren—anyone. There’s absolutely no issue watching this program as a family, and that’s something we’ve forgotten,” she said.

The host also highlighted the intensity of the participants: “The talent of the 10 people here will impress you because we’re used to seeing them in their usual genres, their comfort zones. Here, they’re being pushed out of that comfort zone from the very first episode.”

TECHNOLOGICAL AND SCENOGRAPHIC INNOVATION

Producer Lalo Suárez explained that for this installment, the production has spared no technical resources to deliver a renewed visual experience, including a rotating stage and new lighting dynamics.

“We expanded the sets a bit. We have a stage that rotates 360°, which is the one on the left, and on the right we added a smaller stage to kick off more intimate performances, featuring retractable stairs.”

Suárez emphasized the importance of keeping viewers engaged: “We have a commitment to the audience to keep evolving, and that allows people to feel that, even if they’re watching the same show, it feels different.”

TECHNICAL SCALE AND PRODUCTION

Yahir Vega, associate executive producer, detailed the scale of the behind-the-scenes operation, describing the set as a “three-ring circus” where every element must function with surgical precision.

“There are more than 80 people in production and over 350 in the technical team. Together, we create a great show—it’s truly a three-ring circus. As you can see, the central stage hosts all the main dynamics.”

Vega added that the main goal has been to evolve the format: “Beyond the format itself, it was about reinventing ourselves and upgrading it… now we have to outperform ourselves.”

THE CHALLENGE OF SIBLING COMPETITION

Associate producer Virginia Ramírez emphasized that shifting to sibling competition—rather than the parent-child dynamic of previous seasons—adds a special spark and a more natural, direct rivalry.

“I believe the kind of ‘war’ between siblings is very special. The competition really helps a lot.”

Regarding visual changes, Ramírez noted: “The screens are no longer just upright—they’re now laid out or placed diagonally. Small details that you may not immediately notice in individual shots, but together they create a noticeable difference.”

COMMERCIAL AND BINATIONAL STRATEGY

One of the pillars of this season is its binational nature. The show premiered on March 22 simultaneously on both sides of the border, with a carefully curated musical repertoire.

Juego de Voces 3 is a binational show that premiered in Mexico and the U.S. at the same time. All the music is selected so it resonates in both territories and appeals to both audiences.”

Finally, Suárez highlighted the integration of brands into the set as a commercial innovation: “We already have sponsors and an entire VIP box area, where each major sponsor has a space within the studio. They can use it to bring contest winners, run promotions with their brand, and have a presence here on our set.”
