SPT and Televisa to co-produce 12 teleseries for broadcast in Mexico and for U.S. Hispanic audiences

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and Televisa announced today that they have entered into an agreement to co-produce 12 series -840 total hours of television- over the next five years for broadcast in Mexico. SPT will produce the series in Mexico with the participation of some of Televisa’s top actors. In addition, the series will air in the U.S. on Univision’s network UniMás.As part of the agreement, SPT will handle the distribution across Latin America, while Televisa will distribute across the east and south of Europe; SPT and Televisa will jointly distribute all 12 series throughout the rest of the world.“This groundbreaking agreement has Sony Pictures Television producing in one of the most important countries in the world. The size of this commitment is indicative of the significance and evolution of our partnership with our friend José Bastón and his team at Televisa”, said Andrea Wong, president of International Production for SPT and the president of International for Sony Pictures Entertainment.“By combining Televisa’s talented actors with Sony Pictures Television’s production expertise, we are elevating the teleseries genre to a whole new level as a world-class form of entertainment. Sony llevó innovación tecnológica al Super Bowl LX como socio tecnológico oficial de la NFL

Más de 175 cámaras Sony fueron desplegadas en el campo y alrededor del estadio, incluyendo cámaras de broadcast HDC de alta tasa de fotogramas, así como cuerpos Alpha, entre ellos los modelos Alpha 1 II y Alpha 9 III, junto con objetivos con montura E y la línea G Master.  El sistema Hawk-Eye de Medición Virtual de la NFL fue utilizado por primera vez en una Super Bowl. Theresa Alesso, presidenta de Imaging Products and Solutions Americas en Sony Electronics, destacó que la colaboración reflejó “cómo las tecnologías de Sony trabajaron juntas, desde los datos y la comunicación hasta las imágenes, para apoyar cada momento del partido”.

Sinceramente, considero que ya pasamos la etapa de preguntarnos si la Producción Virtual “va a llegar”; esa conversación ya caducó. La verdadera discusión hoy es, cómo integramos esto de forma inteligente a los flujos de trabajo reales. Cuando una tecnología deja de ser el juguete nuevo y se convierte en herramienta de trabajo, el cambio es profundo, estamos hablando de un cambio cultural.
