Kevin Conroy, president of Digital & Enterprise Development of Univision Communications Inc., said to PRODU the way Univision designed its two digital products, UVideos and Uforia, “really put us in the position to offer our audience the very best in digital video and in digital audio in a very different kind of experience. It is really built for digital.”“UVideos is the first fully bilingual digital video network that offers content all over our networks. So rather than offering one network at a time, we decided that we will put all that together and be able to provide our audience with a selection of content across all of our networks, all wrapped in a lot of social features that allow users to decide what language they want to consume in and how actively engaged they want to be with the content,” Conroy explains. He said that they did something similar with Uforia. “Uforia is a very exciting digital audio product. In addition to offering our audience to listen to all of our live radio stations, also offers a custom radio experience, genres to choose from, lots of artists and lots of songs,” added Conroy. He said that UVideos, which launched a year ago, is doing very well. This product is available on the traditional web, on mobile web, as well as in an app across all of the most popular devices; both tablets devices and mobile devices, iOS, Android, as well as on the Xbox. “We are seeing the gaming platforms increasingly aren´t just about gaming anymore. A lot of them have become really important players in the entertainment space. Ultimately, our view is that we want to provide our audience with our content on any device, at any time and then let them decide how it is they want to go about consuming our content,” said Conroy, adding that Uforia, already available on Apple (iOS), will soon be available for the Android platform.
