Manuela Walfenzao | 15 de mayo de 2017

26% de los partos en EE UU en 2015 fueron de madres latinas

To celebrate Mother’s Day, the agency López Negrete Communications made an infograph to celebrate Hispanic mothers and learn more about their habits. One of the most relevant pieces of data was that in 2015, 1,024,093 children of Latin mothers were born in the U.S., which represents 26% of all the births in that country that year. Latin women tend to have more children than their non-Latin counterparts. The former have in average 2.5 children, whereas non-Hispanics, have an average of 1.7. The age at which Latinas decide to be mothers is lower than non-Latinas, i.e. the average age for the first group is 24.4 and for the second group it is 27. Another important piece of data is that 70% of Latino mothers were born outside the U.S. The agency also mentioned that in the month of May, 2 billion dollars are sent in gifts to Mexico. The most common gifts for mothers on their day are flowers, food, and cards. Hispanics use prepaid call cards 75% more than the general U.S. population, which according to López Negrete, might mean that this group always wants to stay in touch with their family.
