Kontakto Reps announced Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, its new alliance with Socko Content, the production company founded by Director Rene Villar-Rios and Emmy-winning Executive Producer Martin Pearson. The mission of the Los Angeles-based company is to work with different creative minds and storytellers with multiple talents covering a variety of profiles, origins, genres and visions. From idea to execution, Socko is committed to adding the highest quality and originality to every project.“This new alliance was formed with Socko because for many years, Director Rene Villar-Rios was represented by Kontakto Reps and we wanted to work together again. I admire Rene for his vision as a partner of Socko. They are experts at discovering young directors and especially female directors” said Kontakto Founder and President Isabel Echeverry.The Socko team includes the likes of Aplusfilmz, a multi-awarded team of independent directors in Los Angeles. Together, they have done music videos for such artists as Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q. Nikeisha Andersson also stands out in the company for kicking off her career directing Sony videos when she was still in high-school. Since then she has made videos for artists including DJ Avicii, Kid Massive and Dennis Graham, rapper Drake’s father.The roster also includes Camila, the Brazilian director known for her documentaries; Sonia Sebastian, a Spanish director who stands out for her aesthetics and composition; Martina Magorin, born in Stockholm, who is both a director and a creative and has worked for top brands like Adidas, Netflix and Nike; Rene Villar-Rios, the Chilean director raised in Sweden who greets each project with the eye of a photographer; and danXzen, who began his career shooting skateboard videos and today creates commercials for automobile brands and other market giants.
