José Ron and África Zavala lead Corazón de Marruecos, Rosy Ocampo’s new production for TelevisaUnivision
Rosy Ocampo officially kicked off production on her new telenovela for TelevisaUnivision, tentatively titled Corazón de Marruecos (Heart of Morocco), at a location in western Mexico City.
The producer was joined by members of the principal cast, including José Ron, África Zavala, Claudia Álvarez, Daniela Romo, Alexis Ayala, Luis Roberto Guzmán, Alberto Agnesi, Aarón Mercury, and Mich Duval.
The story follows Yasmine, a woman who leaves Morocco to escape a forced marriage. Her search for freedom brings her to Mexico, where she meets León, heir to a major jewelry empire. Together, they will face cultural and social prejudices while building a story marked by love and hope.
With this production, Ocampo once again embraces a narrative that combines romance, family conflicts, and contemporary social issues. The plot unfolds between two cultures and explores themes of identity, freedom, and new opportunities.
The project brings together a cast featuring both established Mexican television stars and emerging talent, with José Ron and África Zavala leading the story.
Corazón de Marruecos is scheduled to premiere in late 2026 on Univision and ViX. It will later debut on Las Estrellas in early 2027.
With filming now underway, the production enters a new phase as it moves toward its launch in the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican markets.
